Education
Ruomu received her B.Eng degree (2013) in Control Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, and M.Sc degree (2015) in Process Control from University of Alberta, Canada.
Work Experience
During her study at University of Alberta, Ruomu also worked as a research assistant and an advanced process control consultant for a number of oil & gas companies, such as Suncor Energy, Syncrude Canada Ltd., Cenovus, etc. She has participated in various projects for the mining process of tar sands, including soft sensor development and real-time optimization.
She was working as Early Stage Researcher in process condition monitoring in Cranfield University, UK, under the supervision of Dr Yi Cao from October 2016 to June 2018.
Current activities
Ruomu is currently employed by Imperial College London as Early Stage Researcher; she is also registered as PhD in Chemical Engineering at the same institute since July 2018, under the supervision of Prof Nina Thornhill. She will have secondment in ABB Corporate Research Centre Poland (October 2017 – September 2019) under joint supervision of Dr James Ottewill.

Multivariate statistical process monitoring, fault detection and diagnosis, process data analytics, probabilistic and Bayesian methods
